1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It does not keep official files, submit forms for users, retrieve certified records, or perform an official background check.

The content identifies Richmond County record custodians and public access routes. Those sources include the Richmond County Sheriff, the county's district and circuit courts, the Virginia Department of State Police Central Criminal Records Exchange and its Civil & Applicant Records Exchange process, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Some pages also provide access to outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of Richmond County Criminal History is conditioned on lawful, fair conduct. A user must not:

• Use the content to threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass another person
• Make employment, housing, lending, credit, or insurance decisions from information found here
• Violate any applicable federal, Virginia, or local law
• Attempt to enter accounts, servers, or systems without authorization

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked service may be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Virginia places a specific limit on misuse of the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Va. Code §9.1-918 prohibits unauthorized use and intimidation or harassment based on registry information, and a willful violation is a Class 1 misdemeanor. Registry publication serves public safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, employment exclusion, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Richmond County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Its advertising partners are not presented as tools for screening applicants, evaluating lease requests, setting insurance terms, or deciding creditworthiness. Information from this website or a linked tool must not be used to:

• Approve, deny, or end employment
• Evaluate a renter or another housing applicant
• Set credit terms or insurance eligibility and rates
• Determine access to a license, permit, or government benefit
• Carry out any other decision regulated by the FCRA

When a lawful purpose requires an official Virginia check, use the authorized Virginia Department of State Police CCRE and CARE process or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA. The public SP-167 route has its own consent, notarization, purpose, and dissemination requirements.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Richmond County charges, warrants, convictions, and Virginia expungement cannot determine a person's rights or eligibility.
